You may say you want something, but are you actively trying to achieve it?

If you really want something as much as you say you do, you will find a way to get it, generally.

...and if you want to prove something, the same applies.

Make 2017 your year to start getting serious about your goals. If you have, say, a life goal or Smash goal, to perhaps, be innovative with some character....practice what you want everyone to see that the character can do it so that you complete it with such accuracy and consistence....make people fear your character, and even better, fear you as a player.

You don't have to start off as a naturally talented player to have "potential" to be good. Ask others for critique, advice, input, analyze your gameplay, and don't stop. Continuously fill yourself with knowledge, determination, and find your own will to never let your dream or your goal go. Make it personal. Make it meaningful. Then you will find it significantly harder to just give up.

It can be for yourself. Or doing it for someone you treasure. But make it something close to you. It will make you very persistent in actively trying to get yourself to the play you currently only imagine.
