From The Top

January 5th, 2021, about 2 and a half months before Mario dies. My default GSP is 6.9M; my roster GSP is 8,305,043. My highest-ranked character is Ridley with 7,988,266, just shy of Elite Smash (currently roughly 8.2M to unlock). Big number, but everyone knows that GSP is meaningless with the way Nintendo does online anyway.

It's not enough for me. I want to be a master of everything Ultimate. I think I can do it. My current playstyle heavily revolves around psychology rather than optimal play. I hardly combo, tending towards frametraps, abuses of playstyles and punishes. That said, how much more could I improve if I went the extra mile and learned the "right way" to play? I haven't had formal training, but I have a background in Brawl, having played that for most of my childhood. On top of that, most relevant people have commented that I seem to have a prowess with fighting games, beating my friend consistently at Mortal Kombat... I don't own an Xbox.

I want to be nationally recognized. I want to be a Tweek of sorts. It's very much an internal struggle - I fight against self-doubt, low self-worth, and plenty of other things that would make me say "This isn't a goal I should have" or "I can't do this." Yet I still try, fighting through the frustration and anger I feel when a spamming Zelda two-stocks me online, or when I mess up a maneuver I thought I had down, costing me a game. In a way, it's a two-edged sword - I get discouraged very quickly over simple slips and mishaps, but that zero-margin-of-error drive is what keeps me wanting pixel perfect plays. Most days the negativity wins, but I want to reimagine myself and try to improve my mindset.

I think it's doable. It isn't in reach yet. There's so much left to do. I'm essentially at square one, but one day I will make it. It's all I really have for goals right now.
