SSF2 Beta: Luffy Guide

There aren't that many Luffy mains in the SSF2 community. As Luffy main myself, I was shocked to see the hate Luffy has been receiving since he has been announced in SSF2 Beta. And what is even more suprising is that Luffy is at the bottom of the SSF2 Beta 1.0.3.2 Tier List. But I believe Luffy is strong and has potential. So if you are a Luffy main or working on maining Luffy, or just want to learn some tricks about him, here are the Luffy combos I would like to share with you people.

1. Spam back throw. When your opponent is at 70% or higher, spam back throw to rack up their damage percentage. And when your opponent is at 120% or higher, use forward throw. This is a great kill combo and can suprise your opponent.

2. Side-Neutral. I call this side neutral because this is a follow-up attack. Use side specual and when your opponent is in front of you, use your neutral special. This isn't really a combo but its useful for increasing damage.

3. Down-Up-Down-DownT. Grab your opponent, use down throw, Use up special, down air, and possibly follow with a down tilt.

4. Pistol Suprise. Gum Gum pistol is Luffy's neutral special. When your off stage, in front of an opponent, use neutral special, then up special, and recover back on stage. SUPRISE!

5. Ledge-Defender. This is a strategy that is useful for increasing damage. If your opponent is hanging on a ledge, use your down tilt to hit them. Defend your ledge! Dont let them have it!

6. Balloon-Knocker. Fuusen, when translated from Japanese to english is "Balloon". Gum Gum Balloon, or Gum Gum Fuusen is Luffy's down special. If an opponent is near you, you can bounce them away from you with down special. Not only that, but down specia,  can also be used to block some attacks. Think PSI Magnet, but you don't heal. Im not saying this attack is limited to energy based attacks. It can block Naruto's Rasenshuriken, Goku's Side Special, Fox's Laser gun,  and much much more. And when using down special in the air you can get a small boost. When under a ledge, use down special to boost yourself up, and then up special to grab the ledge.

7. Rushing Punch. This isnt a combo nor a strategy, but a tip that will help you. Luffy's dash attack is very strong and has a lot of knockback. So pay attention to your opponent's damage, strike with a dash attack!

I hope you guys enjoyed these Luffy combos and strategies. I didn't make all of these up, some of these I learned from battling other people online, or watching Luffy guides on YouTube. But either way, thes will help you alot. Have fun future Luffy mains! Keep these in your head, its the best thing to do for yourself when using Luffy.
