From 1 to 2

I'm gonna start a small blog posting my progress from being a super shitty player to being a pretty good one.

We'll start this with my first local tournament. Not only did I get taken out Losers Round 1, but I failed to take even a single stock off either of my opponents. Keep in mind I've been stuck with nothing but CPUs due to extreme lag all the time and watching tournaments on YouTube, but I didn't think I'd do this bad. I think my problem was (besides me just not being good) a combination of nerves and not being able to play real humans before the tournament. Not even a warm up. But I definitely auto-piloted and panicked which led to soooo many fuck ups and ultimately leaving me $10 short. But I did chat with my opponents and the top player there and they were very kind and gave me tips to help me assimilate to the scene. One recommended this place.

Since then I've joined here in hopes of improving when I have the time, and practicing movement techniques along with DI-ing, teching, and other things. The tournaments are usually weekly so I plan to keep attending them. I always keep in mind that every loss is just another lesson. I don't care if I get taken out in LR1 again and again, because eventually, I'll achieve round 2, 3 and so on.

I hope this can inspire some players doubting themselves or that you just enjoyed this. See you next tournament.
